My Story
In the 1990’s I was asked to participate in building a home out of foam blocks. I thought the idea was a little far fetched but, I am always open to new ideas, I agreed to do so. The foam forms (Ice Block) showed up on a truck with a one page install instruction sheet. The forms looked a lot like foam concrete blocks, with holes cut vertically and horizontally through the center of the foam. We stacked the forms much like concrete block, put in rebar as we went up and poured the center with concrete. I We later learned that the form was called a “post and beam” ICF.
Now 30+ years later and having used a number of different ICF forms in construction from all phases of construction disciplines, I’m here to help you learn more about building like the future, today.
There are many nay-sayers and misconceptions about ICF.
This site, myself and your help with posts, will go a long way in telling the true story about ICF in the home and the work place.
