What is ICF Construction?
The ICF blocks
typically consist of two layers of insulating foam (approximately 2 inches *thick) on both sides, enclosing a 6-inch thick layer of concrete. These Insulated Concrete Blocks measure roughly 16 inches tall by four feet long by 12 inches wide. The inner and outer plastic framework stabilizes the form and provides mounting points for drywall, cabinets, wood trim, and siding on the exterior. 

*Some forms are larger at 18” tall and 8’ long and foam thickness can be 2” up to 6” thick with concrete core cavities of 4”, 6”, 8”, 10” & 12” standard, and even thicker if needed. 

What are the benefits of ICF building construction?
ICF can be used
for various purposes, including basements, underground homes, or entire multi-story houses. Some builders even combine ICF with other building methods above ground.
Energy Efficiency:

One of the primary reasons for choosing ICF construction is its remarkable energy efficiency.
Since the walls are uniformly insulated with solid foam both inside and out, there are no channels for air infiltration.
